Eyeing Up The New and Improved Gen-Eye POD

Posted
Category: Camera Inspection Systems

For the past eight years, the Gen-Eye POD® has been General’s largest selling line of pipe inspection camera systems. The reasons for this include price, portability, durability and utility.

People like the POD’s one-piece construction and the fact that it’s viewing monitor is attached to the reel on a flexible gooseneck that allows for both easy transport and easy viewing in the field. They love the fact that our standard-sized POD comes with our most durable push-rod, (Gel-Rod) and our most robust self-leveling camera head. Since the push-rod and camera head are the most vulnerable parts of any pipe inspection system, bolstering quality in these two key areas goes a long way towards keeping the unit out of the repair shop, where it can work to make or save you money!

If the POD has an Achilles heel, it would be its lack of a built-in video recorder. Although the unit has a video-out port that allows the user to attach a stand-alone recording device, there was never a built-in option for making a digital copy. Until now…

Introducing the new POD with Wi-Fi!

Imagine having all the convenience and utility of the Gen-Eye POD, along with the ability to make still and video recordings on your own tablet or smart phone! Now, imagine you could have this feature for only 95 dollars!

The new POD with Wi-Fi comes with a built-in transmitter. The transmitter’s sole function is to send a clear video picture to your mobile device. From there, you can make a recording that can be uploaded to social media, YouTube or any other website. Like other recordings that you create and upload from your device, you get to decide who sees it, how often they see it and when it gets taken down. The Wi-Fi POD utilizes the latest technology in the simplest format, giving you the power and control that you need to make the most out of every service opportunity.
